John Gabriel, AKA 'sleeping with shoes on' is a producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist from Long Beach California.
Originally from West Nyack, a small suburb outside of New York City, John creates unique sounds sampling and chopping Vinyl records, while also incorporating his own style of guitar, bass, synthesizers and keys, to create the essence that is 'sleeping with shoes on'.
SWSO has collaborated with producers and artists FKi 1$T, Omar Grand, Cisco Adler, Alex Rose(Minus The Bear), Baron Davis, Braxton Olita, FURNS, OTXOA, and many others. SWSO has years of experience under his belt playing shows and sets, organzing his own mini tour in Japan back in May of 2025. SWSO has also played sets at notable venues such as Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu, The Donut Lounge in Brooklyn, and has opened for various acts such as Flamingosis, NiceGuyVinny, BRAKE and BLU (record store day).
SWSO has production credits with: Conway The Machine, FKi 1$T, Coco Jones, Ransom, E Murda, Chioma, Dazy Lyn, Monday Night, OT The Real, FURNS and more. In just a few years, sleeping with shoes on has generated over 2+ million streams across various streaming platforms with his Lofi instrumental compositions as well as his work producing for other artists.
